Think about the price of bottled water for a moment:
- A bottle of water at a warehouse club is $0.25.
- The same bottle in the supermarket is worth about $0.50.
- A fast food place charges about $2.00.
- A good restaurant or hotel might charge up to $3.00.
- At an airport, you may be charged $5.00.
- The same size and brand of water are valued differently depending on the environment where they are sold.
I’ve worked with clients that are miserable at work or are dealing with the disappointment of getting laid off or fired. They typically struggle with low confidence and negative self-talk as they process their negative experiences.
I redirect them to recall several work situations and environments that ENERGIZED them, where they felt valued and did their best and most impactful work.
Through these stories, they realize that THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON and that the environments bring out their SUPERPOWERS.
From here, we begin outlining what they need in an ideal environment and work on a plan to create it for them.
Don’t settle for “warehouse club” environments. Find or CREATE environments where you can THRIVE!
If you need help figuring out how to do this, give me a call.
Wishing you the best!
