Why am I asking you about your core values? Your core values highlight what you stand for and guide your decisions, behaviors, and actions. They help to identify what’s most important to you. If you know what you value, you can intentionally live in alignment with your values and experience greater fulfillment in your personal and professional life. These values provide a framework as you create a long-term vision of the future you desire. And they can accelerate the attainment of that compelling vision.
I’m speaking from my own experience. I worked with a coach to define my core values and compose my 10-year personal vision. Did it work? Well, I’m living that vision right now, and I’m doing it 8-years sooner than I had initially thought I could. Trust me; this is powerful stuff!
So, if you’re not clear on your core values, I encourage you to spend some time working on it. An easy way to do this is to refer to a list of values and circle the values in which you believe. Once you’ve done that, then go back and start grouping similar values together to shorten the list. Then finally, get selective and pick the five values that are most important to you. If you reply to this email, I will send you a free worksheet you can use to complete this exercise.
If you would like to do more in-depth work to compose your own 10-year personal vision, I would be honored to coach you through the process. It would only require three coaching sessions and, of course, some homework assignments. Wishing you the best!
